Come join our free sit down chat with our local high school coaches, Gonzaga Head Coach Robert Horan & St. Anselm's Abbey School Head Coach Sasha Ryjik with moderator Wesley Miller, an alumni of the Cleveland State Fencing Team who will answer any and all of your questions.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet local high school coaches who have seen thousands of young fencers journey and can share their personal experience and knowledge. All are welcome: beginners, casual fencers, aspiring collegiate athletes and their families.

After a short discussion, there will be a Q&A session for attendees. We encourage the student athletes to ask questions!

Coach Sasha Ryjik was the #1 youth ranked fencer in the United States by age category for 9 consecutive years. He is a multiple time U.S. National Champion, North American Cup Champion, and World Cup champion. He represented the U.S. Fencing Team as captain in numerous World Cups, and three Cadet & Junior World Championships. Sasha was the top recruit for Harvard’s fencing team where he earned 3 Ivy-League Championships and All-American title while completing his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. He has taught the sport of fencing to thousands of youth and adult students, including at American University and George Mason University. He is also one of the tournament organizers of Capitol Clash tournament and the fencing coach at St. Anselm’s Abbey School.

Coach Rob Horan is the head coach of the varsity fencing team at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., where he also serves as Assistant Director of Educational Technology. A graduate of Gonzaga’s Class of 2012, Horan returned to his alma mater to lead and grow the school’s fencing program, which provides students with the opportunity to develop confidence, focus, and athletic skill through the Olympic sport of fencing. In addition to his coaching role, he supports the school community through educational technology initiatives and student engagement.
